Mr Huzaifa Malick is a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in surgical glaucoma and complex cataract surgery at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. With a commitment to excellence in eye care, Mr Malick has built a reputation for his expertise in managing and treating complex glaucoma cases.
Mr Malick graduated with a medical degree from the University of Manchester in 2011, followed by training in the West Midlands, North and South Wales and
East Midlands.
His passion for teaching and mentorship led him to pursue a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Birmingham, which he completed in 2014. He undertook a pre-fellowship period of further training in glaucoma at the University Hospitals of Leicester and was subsequently selected for a dedicated glaucoma fellowship at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2019. He is a certified appraiser for senior doctors at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and also provides formal educational support to foundation doctors starting their journey in clinical medicine.
With a focus on complex surgical glaucoma and cataract surgery, Mr Malick is skilled in advanced surgical techniques that help preserve and restore vision for patients suffering from these debilitating eye conditons. He uses a combination of laser treatment, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery and filtering procedures including the Preserflo Microshunt, Trabeculectomy and plated shunt procedures to ensure each patient receives the best possible treatment for their specific needs.
